Good Hello:
I'm Graphic Granola's copywriter, which means that I write ads, direct mail, brochures, websites, and whatever other marketing materials that our clients need written.
I'm good at writing conservative stuff for traditional clients, and off-the-wall stuff for oddball clients. It can be as short as a blurb, or as long as a book. Whether you need to make a sale, create an image, or convey information, my basic approach is the same: I learn everything I can about your target audience, combine those particular insights with general insights about human nature, and then try to use those combined insights to communicate the facts in a manner that will gain the trust of your customers and prospects.
As a "real" writer, my book Revolutionizing Children's Records (Scarecrow Press) won a 2009 Best History award from the Association of Recorded Sound Collections. I've also written articles for CounterPunch and the AMICA Bulletin. With Professor Ronald D. Cohen, I edited an illustrated history of the business of folk music (publication forthcoming), and contributed modest research and visuals to a combination book/multi-CD boxed set entitled The Weavers: Goodnight Irene (Bear Family Records, BCD 15930), which locals can sometimes find in stock at Waterloo Records.
My Marketing degree is from the University of North Texas, which was called North Texas State University when I went there.
